AI adds capacity. Capacity adds tasks.

Without AI you already had too many tasks and too much drift. AI does not fix that arithmetic, it accelerates it. That is the argument for a central, governed, AI-integrated queue.

The arithmetic

More capacity is more work, not less.

The promise of AI is throughput. The consequence of throughput is volume: more drafts to review, more analysis to act on, more follow-ups that exist only because something finally got done. Every tool you own is bolting on an assistant, and each one generates its own stream of output in its own interface.

An organization designed for human-only workload does not absorb that. It gets buried by it, and the first casualty is the follow-up nobody owned.

Collaborative task management in a central portal, integrated with AI and governed by SOPs and rules, becomes critical the day AI joins the team. Not a year later, when the backlog is already unrecoverable.

The queue

One queue. Both kinds of teammate. Same rules.

Why it holds under load

Either it lands, or it is queued and will land, or a human is alerted with the evidence attached.

There is no fourth outcome. What cannot land immediately is durably staged rather than dropped, exhausted retries preserve payload, actor, history and error class, and an engine-independent drain retries every minute and pushes an alert the moment anything reaches the dead-letter queue.

Tasks are deferred or done, never destroyed. The audit trail is a byproduct of normal operation rather than a project you have to fund.
